EinBlick is a subproject of KonTEXT Leseprojekt. Its focus is on youths who are currently facing criminal charges and incarceration. The KonTEXT project reads books with them, which later serve as inspiration for artwork which they create. Be it music, poetry, prose, or images. The viewer gets an idea of these young people's perspective.
Due to the pandemic, the exhibition could not be held in person. We were asked to create a website, which I designed. In addition to that, we also created animations of the images to add to the user's experience.
Below you can see parts of the design process. Since we are showing hand made pieces which don't strive for perfection but instead aim at finding a voice and showing your inner world, I chose to create supporting visuals in that manner.
I created the name EinBlick which, in german, can have to meanings. One is “to take a glance” the other “to gain insight”. It is supported by a minimal visual which leans on the style of the youths.
The link to the website is: ein-blick.org. To protect the privacy of the youths, we added a password protection. It is EinTritt2021.
